“I have been painting professionally for more than a decade. The themes of my work tend to address the agency of women, their societal concerns, and their empowerment through the active application of imagination. My signature style deploys a visual fantasy language in a surrealistic context and it is fundamentally derived from the combination of my life experiences and the mistakes that I have made over the years. My primary focus is placed on exploring relatable feminine characteristics and embedding my own darkly romantic commentary into the visual realm that they occupy. The oppressive – and sometimes morbid – forces that encroach upon my artistic subjects rhyme with the events that occur around me in the real world, echo the society in which I make my home, and interrogate my sometimes ambivalent relationship with it. My heightened observations and responses form the thematic backbone of my work. On the 23rd of November 2021, I began my journey to the new frontier of NFT and quickly realized that I had unlocked a steel door that I hadn’t previously realized was blocking my creative progress. Transitioning from physical painting to its digital sibling has been a revelation. With the watercolor – and mixed media – the landscape has opened out into a vast horizon of mutable pixels instead. This new digital arena has transformed my capacity to connect professionally with a potentially limitless audience of aficionados, collectors, and kindred creators. It has also revolutionized my understanding of myself as an artist.”
